Open
source programs like google chrome, firefox, Linux, Audacity, Muse Score, Open Office
and format factory is genuine social media for us poor folks.
This
article is not based on any expertise because we are ordinary computer users. Our
position is not either or but both and.
There are talented programmers around
the world who are working to create free programs, among other things to
all of us
who do not have the big bucks to squander. If
you can afford, you can donate a sum equivalent what you can afford, you have no
money, it's free. We
will on this side try to describe such roughly the programs mentioned in the
title and provide a link to where you can find it.
Google
Chrome,
a really good, fast browser that is built from open source programmers around
the world who have spent a lot of their spare time to improve and help us to
surf the Internet. One
of the things we have been very pleased with
was that foreign sites may be
translated into Danish, which is a great advantage if you are a little weak in
the language the website are written in.
Firefox,
a really good, fast browser that is
built from open source programmers around the world who have spent a lot of
their spare time to improve and help us to surf the Internet.
Linux (User
does not own, but has thought about this at some point.) Therefore, we have
written, copied from Linux Denmark.
Linux is a free, open and free operating system. An
operating system is the software that controls computer. You
may already be familiar DOS, MacOS, OS / 2 and Windows 95/98/NT/2000. Linux
operating system is very stable. Linux
is not "a better Windows". Linux
is a Unix-like operating system and therefore in many respects very different
from Windows. This
should make yourself clear, before you jump on the bandwagon and switched to
Linux, ie. If
you
do not know Unix, you will learn a lot new!
Audacity,
an excellent tool if you work with music, amateur as
professional. This
program is packed with great features that are built by programmers around the
world. A must for us who work with music and not have
the large economy.
Muse Score,
is a really good music printing program. We
use it to transcribing the notes with the mouse. Afterwards,
we hear what we have written. You
can also use a MIDI keyboard, where the program writes down what you play. You
can download SF2 files with different instrument sounds for use in the program. Good
program.
Open
Office;
Since we
just
have an
old Office 2000 and can not afford a newer, we also have installed Open Office.
A Program we often use.
Format
Factory,
a multi tool for ripping audio and video, video converter and much more. The
program has so many features that we are unable to describe them here. Format
Factory is also open source.
Giveaway of the Day
is a site
where they give away a free program every day. It's
all sorts of programs that you can download and get registered. If
it is a program you do not need, you can wait until the next day,
where it comes a new
one. We
have a look at this site
very often. If
you are unsure of the program you want to download, you can wait and see what
comments other people write about this program.
Finally: This is only a few examples of open source programs available. Of course we have not favorited any, only written a bit about those we have a little knowledge of, when we think the idea behind open source is a very great and nice idea.
